It's official, J can now climb up and down from the couch, coffee table, and who knows where else all by himself unassisted. His evenings are spent pulling himself up, sliding down, then running a lap around the living room before climbing right back up again. I wonder how long before he learns how to jump off?

J has finally learned how to stand up on his own without any assistance. He is walking (and sometimes running) all over the house. We definitely have to keep a closer eye on him now...

J has teeth sprouting up left and right now. His two bottom teeth are big and have really grown since the last picture, and now his two top teeth are breaking through. Watch your fingers...

We have been waiting to get this shot for a while now. He has two teeth that started to come in a week or two ago, but he wouldn't sit still with his mouth open long enough unless he was crying. So this afternoon I finally got my chance...

We bought the baby a bicycle trailer today. Now we just need to find some bikes! Hopefully we'll be able to take him for a spin this afternoon...

J finally outgrew his infant car seat carrier. Over the weekend we ordered a new big boy car seat for him and it arrived today. Same brand and style as his infant carrier, but definitely an upgrade. Complete with 5 recline positions and a cup holder. He seems to be happy with it...

J is slowly getting closer and closer to learning how to walk. The walker he plays in has taught him that moving his feet will get him around. So if he has something to hold on to he sure will try his best. A few more weeks practicing his balance and and I think he'll be there...

J has really gotten the hang of his walker. If he had an open area of smooth floor, he would take off. He's still trying to learn the whole "obstacle" thing, but he's getting there...

So it's no secret that J needs a haircut, bad. He was born with a full head of hair, and none of it fell out. So it definitely is in need. He's starting to get the "is it a boy or girl?" question more and more.
I have been trying to talk Daniela in to it for quite some time now, but have been met with nothing but resistance. She wants to wait until he's 1 year old, which on the norm would be fine. But our shug's hair is just way too long to be able to make it until the first birthday. Tonight she finally cracked! She has given me the approval to schedule his first haircut!
I did some searching and came across a place out in Sanford that I think will be location. It's called Cool Cuts 4 Kids. They have barber chairs that are shaped out of cool cars like taxis, fire trucks and police cars. If the fancy chairs won't hold him good enough, I might just have to sit him on my lap. But it's going to be so worth it! He's going to look like a stud when he's done. Can't wait!!!

J has been steadily improving with his crawling and is beginning to get the hang of it. Although, when he really gets excited and needs to get somewhere quickly, he's still opting to just lay down and roll to his destination...

J just traded in his carseat and stroller for a new set of wheels at the grocery store. He has graduated to the cart seat. He's growing so fast. I have a feeling that before I know it he will be pushing the cart and running in to my ankles as I walk. Can't wait...

J is half a year old today...and the only thing he cared about was trying to get ahold of the cupcakes. I can't believe he's already 6 months old. Another few months and he'll be walking, then a few months after that he'll be playing pop warner football. Man how time flies...

J's grandma bought him the "Your Baby Can Read" learning program. It is supposed to start teaching your baby how to speak and read at a much earlier age than he would learn otherwise. It has an entire curriculum to follow, starting at the age of 1 month to start getting him used to specific sounds. He's going to be a genius in no time. Thanks mom!
